Millsap, Texas is a rural community located approximately 9 miles southeast of Mineral Wells, Texas. The last national census of 2020 shows a population of 477. Made up largely of farms and ranches, the town of Millsap was originally established as a stopping point on the stagecoach route between Weatherford and Palo Pinto. Located on the western edge of Parker County, Millsap has become a bedroom community for Weatherford, Texas.
The Millsap Independent School District services the children of Millsap. Millsap Elementary School includes pre-school thru fifth grades; Millsap Middle School has grades sixth thru eigth and Millsap High school includes ninth thru twelfth grades. Being a smaller community, many people like the student to teacher ratio of 13 to 1.
Millsap’s convenient location to Mineral Wells and Weatherford makes it a desirable place to live. Not too far from either city, you can enjoy living in the country without the hassle of a long drive for shopping or entertainment. For major shopping and restaurants, Weatherford is approximately 16 miles from Millsap and includes stores such as Kohl’s, Best Buy, Target and Bath and Body Works. For a quick run to the store, Mineral Wells has a Wal-Mart, Metro Grocery and Sav-A-Lot.
