Coming soon to Mineral Wells is the CRAZY DOG PARK!  Yay!  Residents of Mineral Wells have been asking for a dog park for quite some time.  Each year the current leadership class puts together a community project to help improve our city.  This year, Leadership Class #27 has decided on raising money for a dog park.   

At present, the leadership class is trying to raise $150,000.  If you would like to donate, please visit their Go Fund Me page at https://gofund.me/2b668fc5  Based on the project design and description of the dog park, it looks like it will be an ideal place for pups of all shapes and sizes.  There will be fun areas for large and little dogs as well as watering stations, pet waste stations and more.  

The designer of the dog park, Willis Winters, is an architect and veteran dog park designer.  He has been involved in a majority of dog park designs throughout the Dallas Texas area and the leadership class is very happy to have him on board.  Mr. Winters did not forget about the folks who will be bringing their pups out for fun and frolic and has included benches and shaded areas for people to sit on and under.

On October 21, the leadership class will be having another fundraiser for the dog park project.  This will be the Putts Fore Pups golf tournament and if you would like to play in the tournament, please contact the Mineral Wells Chamber of Commerce for more information.  The tournament will begin at 9:00 a.m. and lunch will be included.

I think the dogs will have a great time running around and meeting new dog friends!  We are all excited about this new addition to our city and can’t wait for it to be completed.
